SpringPoint, a fast-paced IT Staffing and Managed Services company, is selectively searching for a Systems Administrator.
This role supports clients through phone and face-to-face interaction. 

  • Maintain effective relationships with peers, vendors, and others in a diverse environment
  • Determine causes of unusual occurrences and apply standard principles and practices to determine and implement solutions
  • Prepare written and/or verbal presentations or proposals on highly complex issues and deliver to a broad variety of audiences
  • Incorporate new facts and ideas into group processes and apply creative thinking to develop new solutions
  • Apply knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of a particular field of specialization to complete difficult assignments
•    Analyzes and resolves problems associated with servers, hardware and software.
•    Installs, configures and maintains operating hardware and software.
•    Troubleshoots networking and operating system problems.
•    Provides recommendations for hardware and software planning and budgeting related issues.
•    Responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems; especially multi-user computers, such as servers.
•    Seeks to ensure that the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the computers he or she manages meet the needs of the users, without exceeding the budget.
•    May acquire, install, or upgrade computer components and software
•    Automates routine tasks
•    Write computer scripts and troubleshoots
•    May train and/or supervise Specialist staff and provide technical support
•    Administer and manage a network infrastructure environment comprised of hubs, switches, routers, intrusion protection systems, internet security systems and end point virus protection systems.
•    Consults with management and users to discuss system capacity, equipment acquisitions and security requirements.
•    Works with users, managers, and executives to identify and document system, application or functional requirements.
•    Recommend new designs and implement new systems on the network by conducting research on new products and how to properly implement them. Results are measured by the effectiveness and efficiency of the product and the installation.
•    Troubleshoot systems when experiencing issues by identifying what the problem is and finding a resolution. Results are measured by not only resolving the issue, but also preventing it from occurring in the future.
•    Stay abreast of latest product upgrades to ensure that all systems software is up to date as possible. Results are measured by the efficiency of the upgrade as well as the impact on the network and user community.
•    Log all changes made to the network and infrastructure utilizing existing tracking systems.
•    Provide Incident Desk support as needed.
•    Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft server, Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft email systems.
•    Advanced knowledge of administering  environments.
•    Experience in configuring and running Microsoft DHCP and DNS services.
•    Experience configuring and administering firewall systems.
•    Experience configuring and administering Internet Filtering and Intrusion Protection Systems.
•    Working knowledge and understanding of Cisco Meraki environments preferred.
•    Working knowledge of telecommunications systems.

•    Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Systems Engineering from a regionally accredited university is preferred
•    Certifications in appropriate areas, i.e., MCSE, CNA, CCNA, etc. are preferred

•    Ability to troubleshoot network and application issues spanning across applications, operating systems, networking and storage
•    Fundamental understanding of networking and storage
•    Understanding of network/host security fundamentals
•    Experience administering Windows environments
•    Experience with configuration management frameworks and solutions
•    Experience with application servers monitoring and tuning.
•    Experience with system, network and application monitoring frameworks
•    Experience with Cloud providers
•    Ability to work non-standard hours on occasion
•    Experience working with geographically dispersed clients and data centers
