Data Warehouse Lead/Manager
Contract-to-Hire - $60/hr; $120K upon conversion

General Definition Data Warehouse Manager role is to expand the company’s use of data as a strategic enabler of corporate goals and objectives by leading a team in strategically designing and implementing data warehousing models in IBM DB2.  Integrate with various databases and data warehouses across all divisions of the enterprise to centralize and make reporting seamless. This includes selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements, designing, and rolling out analytical solutions to end users. The Data Warehouse Manager is also responsible for application administration and support for our portfolio of business analytics software including but not limited to IBM Cognos, IBM TM1, IBM SPSS.

  • Analyze user requirements and, based on findings, design functional specifications for data warehousing solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and business unit leaders for all projects involving enterprise data.
  • Develop and deliver long-term strategic goals for data architecture vision and standards in conjunction with data users, department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders.
  • Design, plan, and implement enterprise wide data warehousing solutions
  • Debug, monitor, and troubleshoot Cognos solutions
  • Design, create, and implement data warehousing models that enable efficient analytics and reporting
  • Design and maintain application security functions and roles within the Cognos product suite
  • Understand metadata for multiple data sources
  • Manage and assist in the development of data warehouse infrastructures, including extract, translage, and load (ETL) design using tools such as IBM DataStage and IBM QualityStage
  • Participate in multidiscipline development teams to create and maintain data warehouse infrastructure and models for use by various areas of the Chickasaw Nation
  • Design and deliver end-user training and training materials; provide technical support as necessary.
  • Responsible for the advanced knowledge of SPSS modeling, Cognos BI and reporting from TM1 data and other Cognos model’s for forecasting, report publishing and predictive analysis.
  • Responsible for the proper configuration and/or reconfiguration of business units within Business Intelligence tool as required
  • Provide application support as well as support of framework design
  • Assist in the technical support for Cognos BI tool.
  • Ability to manage data integration from source systems such as Great Plans, e-Requester, Kronos, etc.
  • Utilizes available integration tools to automate current manual processes where possible
  • Assists with the development and deployment of new functionality
  • Ensure the success of enterprise-level application rollouts
  • Liaise with vendors and service providers to select the products or services that best meet company goals.
  • Lead a team of Data Warehousing Engineers and Architects
  • Act as a leader and advocate of data management, including coaching, training, and career development to staff.

Required Skills:
  • Strong management skills and ability to lead a technical team
  • Advanced Experience with installation, maintaining, and administering IBM Cognos analytical tools including BI, Framework Manager
  • Advanced experience with installation, maintaining, administering, and developing in extract, translate and load (ETL) tools such as IBM DataStage, IBM QualityStage, and IBM InfoSphere Change Data Capture
  • Strong working knowledge of IBM DB2 database platform especially with BLU Accelerator
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Experience with SQL scripting, and common database practices
  • Experience with architecting data warehouses
  • Direct experience in implementing enterprise data management processes, procedures, and decision support.
  • Knowledge of or experience with data mining strategies
  • Strong ability to take limited details and produce enterprise quality reports
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to participate in requirements gathering sessions with key stake holders to determine their report needs
  • Ability to rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to accomplish work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to new technological environments
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in computer sciences or management information systems. 
  • A minimum of four to six years experience as a Data Warehouse Developer.  A certification in Data Warehouse Engineering is a plus but not required.
  • A minimum of four to six years experience with IBM Cognos, including TM1, Data Stage, Framework Manager, Quality Stage, Change Data Capture and Report Studio.
